Facebook and Twitter Plug-ins, Widgets, Buttons
Aloha Everyone!
You've probably already noticed that at Pua'a Nui I have added Facebook and Twitter like and share buttons/widgets/plug-ins. Whatever you want to call them really. It took me some time to find where on the internet and on each of these sites these things were. I'm going to share this info with you all so that if you ever want to add these things to your site you'll know exactly where to find them!
Apparently, Facebook has a developers section of it. Here is the page that was most helpful for our purposes: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/ . It's a great list of the Social Plugins that you can add to your blog, shop, or website. The two that I used on my site were the "Like Button" and "Like Box" . The Like button lets users share pages from your site back to their Facebook profile with one click. The Like Box enables users to like your Facebook Page and view its stream directly from your website. I chose these two because I found them to be the most clean and straight to the point for my purposes.
The page that I found helpful from Twitter was: http://business.twitter.com/optimize/resources/ . The two that I added to my site were the "Follow Button" and "Tweet Button". I liked the "Follow Button" because it allows people who are on my page to easily follow me on Twitter too. The Tweet Button lets people easily tweet about my site from my page.
